Mark and his family need your help now
Where to begin………It started for my younger brother Mark 2 ½ years ago when he was diagnosed with Liver cancer and Bowel Cancer……...Being a fit 61 year old at the time he had a great attitude and was all set to fight this terrible disease with the support of his devoted wife Jenny, daughter Shaye and fiancé David, son Matthew, daughter-in-law Erin and four gorgeous granddaughters aged between 1and 5, family and friends.
Firstly the surgeon Mr Saleh Abbas couldn’t remove the tumour in his liver because it was too large. After a heavy TACE (Trans arterial chemoembolization) injection straight into his carcinoma. It reduced in size enough for the surgeon to operate at Geelong Hospital in March 22, 2019. The operation was successful and Mark recovered over the next 6 weeks so he could have the tumour in his Bowel removed by Mr Ragg at the Warrnambool Hospital. Another successful operation and Mark once again recovered quickly.
6 weeks later he became very ill and another trip to Warrnambool hospital to have further surgery to remove Cobweb scar tissue which had formed in the bowel.
Two months later Mark was able to return to work after getting the all clear from his surgeon and oncologist.
During the course of the 3 operations and recovery time, Mark was unable to work for 8 months draining all their savings and superannuation leaving the family financially spent.
Mark is very resilient, with his health and a job he soldiered on, all was good until he received this year’s Christmas present with the return of the liver cancer in 2 places.
Mark now has to face Chemotherapy fortnightly for the next 3 months to reduce the tumour before the surgeon decides whether he can remove the one tumour and laser the other. Followed by another 3 months of chemotherapy. This is on top of the emotional toll the family have already been through over the past 2 ½ years.
Mark will be unable to work during his next lot of treatment/surgery and will need $100,000 to get him and his wife Jenny through this horrific secondary cancer ordeal.
Please make a donation to help with Mark’s medical, illness and healing time expenses.
