This morning my parents home burned down completely, and nothing was salvageable. They made it out with only the shirts on their backs, but everything else they’ve ever owned is gone.

On top of losing their home and belongings, they are absolutely heartbroken over the loss of their two beloved cats, Bijou and Sofia. Their absence will leave an unimaginable emptiness in their hearts.

My parents are devastated. Right now, they’re trying to process the shock while also figuring out how to start over from scratch.

As you may know, the insurance process can be lengthy and it may be weeks before my parents are fully settled in an apartment while they wait years for their home to be rebuilt.
