Home Care for Felix during hospice.

Friends,

 

I am raising funds to provide 24/7 in home custodial care and comfort care for Felix while he goes through hospice. He has given so much love and joy to so many of us throughout his extraordinary life. I hope to surround him and Olga with all of the love and support they need to go through the final stages of his journey comfortably at home. If the situation calls for it, we will transfer Felix to a Hospice facility and any remaining funds will be used to help cover those costs.

Who am I? 
Felix was my teacher at Juilliard from 97-01. He has been my mentor and I have continued to study with him privately over the past 21 years.

Where am I? 

I live in Chicago but am currently at Olga and Felix's home in Syracuse. 

How specifically will these funds be used?

*When I arrived last week it was clear that there was a gap in care. After several days communicating with Felix's primary care, oncologist, and hospice, I realized that there was no coverage for an in home health aid and Olga could not do it all by herself. I've taken a leave of absence from work to help out- but what is really needed is a professional care giver. Funds will be used to pay for a home health aid for Felix and Olga as well as medical equipment to make things easier-- much of which I have already paid for privately.

Who will manage the funds? 

All funds will be transferred directly to Olga and Felix's account, though I will be helping to manage the nursing team, etc.
