We, the donors of this campaign, are taking this opportunity to divert our donations away from the School of Music, Theatre, & Dance and the Michigan Marching Band and towards SAPAC.
All of the money raised from this campaign will go directly to the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC) at the University of Michigan. As alumni of the Michigan Marching Band and the School of Music, Theatre, & Dance, we understand how wonderful and empowering these institutions can be. However, we also stand with all survivors of sexual harassment and assault.
We are using this platform to demonstrate that we stand with those who are brave enough to speak out, and we fiercely support organizations like SAPAC that work with survivors to help them heal.
We learned from the MMB and SMTD to hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, work ethic, and support for the team above all else. Now, as alumni, we compel the MMB and SMTD to hold themselves to those same high standards and set an example for all members of the University of Michigan community that there is no place for sexual harassment and assault on our campus.
The goal for this campaign is $1,972 to represent the year that women were first allowed to join the Michigan Marching Band.
