Still unsure of origin or exact diagnosis of the 8 lesions in his brain.
He will have MRI/CT scans in 2 months which will tell us more-
Then possible brain surgery for biopsy-
Not knowing is driving me crazy

Home and continuing home health….
Brain lesions are still intact; still decent size hole in hamstring:
Spot still on lung:
Awaiting culture that could take 8 weeks minimum…. To inform us on his status-
If the infection is noncardia; or perhaps tuberculosis:
Both present with brain lesions or abcesses, which cause seizures; and abcesses other places in the body, ie his abcessss in his hamstring.
Or or could be tuberculosis in which he could have been exposed in his several attempts to get clean -
Most treatment facilities here accept INDIGENT people being baker acted off the streets where TB runs rampant
We just don’t know ….
Meanwhile, the cdc comes daily to do observed medication taking as an extra precaution-
The CDC in Vegas gave us the all clear in terms of contagion before he was released after 25 days in Nevada

May 6: update
Tucker is still in MICU which I’m assuming means Medical ICU….
He is not feeling bad….
He loves his basketball hoop and ball.
Hes vacillating between bored and scared……
He’s been reading his Brian Greene book.,…,
But still is in a negative pressure room on full precautions because his status is unknown in terms of possible infections….
Only one of us is allowed in his room at a time …..
He has an ct and mri tomorrow to check if lesions in brain are shrinking-
If so he will be discharged….
He still has wound vac and he might be driving cross country with Eric with the would vac in place-

Update: may 1st :
Was getting outta shower to go to hospital around 9am and my phone hs ringing:

Out answer and Eric is talking fast and excitedly “Tuck had a seizure “
He was sitting in bed saying:
“Dad look at my arm!….. his arm was bouncing up and down….. then his leg started; then he went unconscious….
I literally levitated to the hospital
We still have no answers
They are going to do EEG later…
He is now back in icu ….
He’s despondent; and scared; angry-
Extremely pissed off…..
I told them he needs something for anxiety…..
I believe the anger is coming from fear
Momma is trying to keep it together for my boy-
We are still waiting for definitive diagnosis!!!!!!!!!
We are stunned it’s taking so long to know anything!!!!

Update: April 30th
Now we are waiting until may 7th to check brain lesions with ct/ mri?
They want to see they are shrinking and need to check spot/ cavity/ hole in lung
If the 24 pills a day have worked on the 7th he can travel home with his dad in a cross country drive

Update: Nevada……650am April: 28
Tucks situation is going to be a difficult one. Perhaps lasting 9 months to a year for him to heal-
The “holy….bleep”….. hospital blues are creeping in…..
He’s quite shocked, scared, and frustrated…..
We just want real answers at this juncture.
They think it’s noncardia….
Very rare….
Comes from the soil……. I think I posted a link yesterday…
He’s on about 24 antibiotics…
He may have to have some kind of home health care for 9 months
He feels defeated…
I’m exhausted but his dad Eric has been terrific …
Tuck came out here full of hope and the intervention to turn a corner on a dark chapter in his life …
During the process we had to stop an address an underlying health concern that could have killed him-
We are so grateful for you all !

April: 16: I cannot believe I’m writing this at 550am Nevada time. About a month ago my piece of the sun; the boy; Tucker; had a significant surgery on his leg. He had been suffering with an abscess; actually two deep in his hamstring and upper glute area.
They were removed successfully.
Shortly after Tucker agreed it was time to turn a corner in his life and made the decision to go to detox in Nevada.
First two treatments were fine but Saturday night he began screaming and not able to communicate at all.
His wonderful caregivers called rescue asap and got him to Umc trauma in Las Vegas for medical help.
We are still awaiting answers.
There is so much still unknown.
I do know that I have the most incredible loving supportive friends.
This will be a huge financial struggle.
If you can give I would appreciate it greatly.
Your love, prayers, and notes of encouragement sustain me.
as he is in icu on ventilator the hospital staff cannot comment as to the length of his stay….
But I’m looking to extend my stay here in Nevada in order to be by his side as much as possible…,
My extended stay here is completely unexpected, and not something that was calculated in my budget.

Update: April 20 2022
They are thinking the lesions found in tucks brain are tumors.
Later they go into the heart via esophagus to check for infection and potential clots.
Still heavily sedated.
We are still not allowed in his room:
We just pray and cry at his window…

Late 4/20 update :
Spinal tap done-
Testing for so many things
Some on list are : menengitis, gullien Barr, Epstein Barr, West Nile virus, …. And another 20 things……
Tests results will take a while :
Found spot on lung ….. looks similar to brain lesions
Could be TB
Wound care dr says his leg shows no signs of infection…..
Doesn’t think that wound is related to abcess surgery…..
But they are going to put suction thing on would to help heal it faster—
Feeding tube is inserted:
We are able to hold his hand in his room finally…..
And although heavily sedated he did open an eye and look around:
Nurse didn’t want him getting too agitated so we left after quick :

4-21-
Checking heart via scope for infection
Also for potential clots that may have traveled to brain causing the 8 lesions found there
Possible open heart surgery if infection found
Possible brain surgery to biopsy lesions if no infection or clots are found
Spinal tap came back clear!!!!

Tuck is sitting up!
Taking making sense but a little confused still; and scared…
Infectious disease Dr still have nothing definitive on lung spot….
2 tests for TB were negative: 2 positive
So they continue to treat as if he is positive-
In a negative pressure room ….
Only one of us are allowed to visit …
We are now able to go in but with fitted n95 and gown : gloves
So we trade off
He’s very tired
Still no word on 8 lesions on brain
Neurosurgeon hasn’t decided how to approach doing biopsy
That is extremely concerning
He has zero appetite
We are trying to feed him as much as possible….
But he isn’t interested…..at all-
He’s sooooo thin

Nureosurgery is still a possibility….
His surgery on his leg required 5 days in a med/surg room
The financial part was exorbitant-
This is going to be triple the cost or more-
Brain surgery is scary but the costs is even scarier ……
