Ashley’s Angels

Close your eyes for a moment and think about what you were doing three months ago. I was traveling every weekend, like I always do with my travel buddy, road warrior, and dear friend to basketball tournaments. We were watching our girls, Sophi and Josie, do what they love, always making wrong turns and missing exits because Ashley and I would get to talking. Now, three months later I would have never imagined the “wrong turn” life just would take for Ashley. I wish we could just turn around and head back in “the right direction.”

 

May 24, 2022 Ashley went to the emergency room here in Huntington, WV for severe neck pain. She was told she had blood clots and what they believed to be a tumor on her brain. Because of family history, it was decided Ashley should be transported to Ohio State for further testing. On July 19, 2022 Ashley headed into surgery at Ohio State to remove the tumor on her brain. Surgery went well, so Ashley and her family headed back to WV while she recovered. There were still many trips from WV back to OH for appointments and testing…but, oh was it a blessing to be home when she could.

 

After rigorous research by Ashley, Ashley’s parents, and her siblings, on August 4, 2022 Ashley headed to UK to see a physician who specialized in her type of tumor. Within hours of being admitted to UK, the unimaginable diagnosis of stage 4 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma was made. Her first cycle of chemo is over with 5 more to go, and she is currently undergoing radiation.

 

 

Her prognosis is ominous; however, we are not only depending on the wisdom of her physicians, but the power of God. Ashley’s determination to fight is strong and her faith in God is even stronger. Bravery and courage have been two of her greatest assets these past couple months.

 

This is where she needs YOU! Sophi needs you, and her family needs you. They need your support and prayers. I thought it was important to create this page because Ashley and Sophi have so many who love them and would want to be on this journey right beside of them, praying tirelessly, encouraging them relentlessly, and loving them unconditionally.  My second purpose of this page will be for monetary reasons. Ashley is not able to work, so she has no income. Medical bills are rolling in, along with the expense of the travel during treatment.  

 

In the coming days, I will be posting information on how to gift funds directly to her.  Ashley has the fight for her life here on earth ahead of her, so taking some financial stress off of her and her family would be an absolute blessing. Let’s spread our wings and be “Ashley’s Angels!!”
