J’s Martial Arts Performance Academy teaches Taekwondo, Martial Arts Tricking, Action Stunts, K-Pop Dance, and Fitness in Mesa, Arizona. Choi’s Black Belt Academy opened in the early 90’s and changed its name to JMAP Academy in September of 2016 offering our community physical fitness and mental discipline with our programs. Numerous students have studied with us and have carried what they value of Taekwondo with them throughout their life.
Unfortunately, we closed our doors on March 21st, 2020 to secure the safety of our school members, instructors and their family and to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community. However, we did continue classes via zoom to ensure that our students stay engaged and active.
Not all of our students could accommodate this new system and for many we had to stop their monthly memberships because of uncertain times and an uncharted path. We have always been a school where students come first. That’s why we offer our classes at reasonable rates so everyone can experience Taekwondo.
At this time, we have reopened our doors, with social distancing guidelines, safety reminders, and multiple cleaning times throughout the day to reduce the spread of Covid-19. We are working hard to rebuild the school and students base but in spite of this, we are faced with financial responsibilities and we are seeking donations to ensure the school can remain open to give the youth and adults of our community a valuable place of learning and growing.
