Hello, today I am reaching out for help for my son Jeremiah's medical bills. Jeremiah was born with a cleft lip and palate, that has been repaired. He is such a beautiful boy. His smile wins everyone over, not to mention his laugh. That's not why I'm reaching out though, sadly shortly after his surgeries to repair his deformities, his doctors discovered he also has a life threatening disease called Fanconi Anemia, which is a blood disorder and bone marrow disorder, that put Jeremiah at high risk of all types of pediatric cancer. Jeremiah has been in and out of the hospital, to and from many doctor visits to keep him as healthy as possible, but sadly my son's blood work recently came back showing signs that put him at high risk of developing leukemia. His red blood cells are getting bigger than normal and that's a big red flag for childhood leukemia. His doctors recommend he should undergo an intensive chemo therapy, blood transfusion, and bone marrow transplant that will put him in the hospital for an extensive stay. The therapy is recommended to slow down the continuous and rapidly increasing red blood cells, and hopefully preventing the leukemia. Well, it turns out that Jeremiah has a hole in his heart. He is now in need of surgery to repair his heart before the therapy can take place. With all my son has to go through, it's heartbreaking not only for me and my wife, but all that love Jeremiah. My worries are not only based on my son's well being, but on how much my health insurance will cover. I know we all have things going on in our daily lives, some burdens are hard to bare, some are more easily handled, and it's understood not everyone can help financially, but if by sharing Jeremiah's story would be of great help as well. His heart surgery will be taking place on the 8th of April and within 6 weeks of that date after he heals, he will be admitted into the hospital for his chemo treatment, bone marrow transplant, which will keep him hospitalized for at least 8 weeks. Jeremiah will then be overseen by his doctors for several months to insure the therapy worked. We are keeping our hopes and faith high my son will overcome all he has to endure. We are asking that you keep him in your prayers as well. With peace in our heart and much humility we greatly appreciate any help you send our way, be it financially, sharing Jeremiah's story, or prayers for him, we thank you.
