On December 28, 2024, Dad(Keith) fell ill and was transported by ambulance to Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE. It was discovered that he had severe pancreatitis and he was sent to Bryan East in Lincoln, NE the next day. His pancreas is inflamed and his kidneys were shut down to the point of needing sedation and intubation. Dad is slowly improving but doctors have said he'll be in the hospital for some time with quality of life afterwards reduced to approximately 50% for 6--12 months and the chance of this reoccurring. Being unable to work, we are looking into other options as a family to maintain current bills as well as facing the obvious looming medical bills to start out the year.
