JLMS 8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip

It seems that all of our news centers around politics. Anti-immigrant statements, protests, and the resurgence of hate speech makes us question what America we live in.

The America that our students are coming of age in is a turbulent place. There is no better time to give them the opportunity to experience firsthand America's capitol and its layered history.

James Lick Middle School is trying to send 42 students to Washington, D.C. this year and we need your help. We need to fundraise over $10,000 in total and we are hoping to raise half of that through the generous contributions of the community.

On our trip, we will visit the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, several Smithsonian museums (including the African American History and Culture Museum), tour the memorials in the National Mall, Mt. Vernon, and the Holocaust Musuem.

Please spare a few dollars and help us out. Our students are our future. They are the future lawyers, senators, and presidents of this country. Help me give them their first glimpse of politics and civil rights.
