Helping a brother out
On May 23, Lawrence was fishing on his Kayak in the Crow River. He hit a fork in the river and the current sped up, smashing him into a fallen tree that knocked him off of his Kayak and sent him downstream. He nearly drowned as he attempted to swim back to shore for 10 minutes. Luckily he was able to grab a log and scream for help until some very amazing people were able to get him out.
A few cuts and bruises later, Lawrence was lucky to retrieve his wallet and car keys but lost his phone, all of his fishing gear, and four fishing poles. I personally watched for months as Lawrence busted his butt doing 3-5 overtime shifts a week to save up for all his gear so he could enjoy a hobby, especially at a time when everything but the outdoors is shut down.
I’m starting a GoFundMe for Lawrence to try and help him get back some of his $1000+ worth of equipment and get back out to fish the rest of the summer. Any help you guys can offer, even a couple of bucks would really go a long way. It really sucks almost drowning and losing all your stuff that you worked for months towards and won’t be able to buy back anytimesoon, I’m hoping we can support him.
We are thankful for your donation and I’m personally thankful Lawrence is alive.
