Help Stephanie Rebuild After Domestic Abuse

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am 28 years old.

I’m rebuilding my life after surviving intimate partner violence. I suffered through an emotionally /financially abusive and destabilizing relationship. I made the bravest decision of my life to leave. I need your help to make sure I will NEVER go back to this person. This relationship stole so much from me: my car, my apartment, and my mental health.

In just one year, this relationship stripped me of my peace, my sense of safety and my financial stability. Just this week (July 22), a judge granted me a Temporary Protection Order citing “more than enough evidence” to protect me from this domestic violence. Despite all this, I’m struggling to keep up — emotionally and financially.

Your support will help me:
  • Purchase a vehicle so I can get to work and appointments safely
  • Cover critical bills like my phone (I had to switch carriers from our shared phone plan)
  • Reestablish housing that isn’t temporary or dependent on others
  • Pay for my already sliding-scale therapy services to do this critical healing work.
  • ** if you would rather support me without the gatekeepiness of Gofundme- my venm0 is: @spwdesignmedia

I tried to get away from the relationship multiple times, and finally found my own space. I paid July’s rent, but only got to sleep there a handful of times because he knew where I was staying, and stalked me there. I had to switch cell phone carriers due to his digital stalking.

Since then, I’ve been couch surfing in trusted friends’ homes to stay safe, while also working three jobs, including running my own business doing creative direction + digital marketing for nonprofits and serving as a Youth Group director at a local church. I am also an active community member at St. Peter & St. Mary Episcopal in Denver.

Leaving was the right choice — even at a high cost. If life lately has taught me ANYTHING - I’m committed to never abandoning or disrespecting myself ever again. This is my reset, my reclamation, my line in the sand. As my friend reminds me:

“Life happened. So much of navigating victimhood into survival is walking through the immense shame that our culture, your abuser, systems of oppression, and the bullshit our egos tell us. It’s all lies. It’s not cringe. It’s saving your life. It’s not weird. It’s bold and brave and asking for help.”

Every donation no matter how small, or a ride somewhere, or a meal, or a hug, or just sharing this link ....your support means the world to me. Thank you for loving me, supporting me, and believing in me.

With love, gratitude, (some rage), determination, and hope,
Steph <3
