The May 16 tornado that tore through St. Louis upended many lives, some more than others. The Dickerson family - a mother and her two wonderful sons - lost their car and their home. The home can be repaired, but they are facing significant financial costs for Michelle to keep the boys in decent housing in the meantime while repairs are scheduled.
But their car was badly damaged, and they now have no vehicle. There are many ways to help the tornado victims in St. Louis, and all are helpful. If you’re looking for a way to be deeply impactful to one specific family who desperately needs a new vehicle and stable housing, support for this family will make a huge impact. These boys and their mother deserve a path to get back on their feet after the tornado. Please help!
My name is Emily Schiltz, and both these boys have been students at my school - The Biome School. I have known them for many years, and I can assure you this family is deeply deserving of any help that can be offered. Thank you for considering!
You won't find a more deserving family. Michelle is technically both boys' grandmother, but she has raised them both since they each were born. Additionally, Michelle battles lupus, and both stress and physical exertion can trigger flare ups. The family has had to move three times already since the tornado as they have been searching for stable housing. Michelle's health has been badly impacted by the stress and labor of so many moves, and so many things to address with their home and car so badly damaged. The funds will be used first to help with replacing the car, and anything left over will go toward housing costs.
Please know your support is going right where it is needed the most when you support this family! Thank you!
