Kelly's Fight

On July 12th, 2018 Kelly Clark was diagnosed with Invasive Triple Negative Breast Cancer. It was just  a short week after finding a lump in her breast and getting an immediate mammogram that this diagnosis came about. Though devastated and saddened by this news, Kelly has taken the road of POSITIVITY and FAITH and has chosen to share her story with all us. 

Kelly under went two biopsies where it was determined that she did have breast cancer and that it had in fact spread from the tumor and into one of her lymph nodes. Her team of Doctors has determined this to be an aggressive fast moving cancer.  They have established an immediate treatment plan requiring a number of different types of treatments. 

A week after diagnosis, Kelly under went surgery to have a port put into her chest. This will be used for blood draws and to input the chemotherapy into her system. Her first round of chemo started on July 25th. It is a combination of two drugs.  Adriamycin (aka The Red Devil) and the second drug being Cytoxan. She will receive these a total of four times an every other week basis.  After that the second round of chemotherapy will start September 19th.  She will undergo the drug Taxol once a week for the following 12 weeks. Kelly will then need to undergo a possible number of other surgeries.  Last, she will follow up all with a round of radiation. 

This fund will serve as not only an amazing support system for Kelly, also a  prayer chain.  Last it will help her with the ever growing list of medical bills, medications, surgeries a beautiful wig and the everyday life bills we all accumulate.. Kelly is going to continue to work at her job at CHI Health as long as she can and as long as she has GOOD days. She has however, exhausted all of her PTO with her job. This is where we all come in to help and support her as much as we can.  Our goal is to help Kelly and her little puppy Gracie continue to live their best life possible in their home, comfortable and without worry of bills. She will have a long journey ahead of her and there will for sure be some ups and some downs but those of us who know Kelly knows she is one tough girl!! She is a fighter and with the support of her loving family, friends and coworkers, SHE WILL BEAT THIS!
