JJ's Recovery GoFundMe!

Friends of JJ, Gaea, Heartland, & Laid Back,

This GoFundMe is organized on behalf of our dear friend JJ, also known affectionately as our “Sweetass”!

JJ recently suffered severe and significant burns to his arms, legs, torso, and face. These burns caused him to be hospitalized at KU Med in Kansas City and have required multiple surgeries, to include invasive skin grafts, and he will be undergoing a significant recovery which will require continued hospitalization and physical therapies.

JJ’s job in the “real world” is as a Certified Nursing Aide, which means he quite literally takes care of people in institutionalized facilities who are unable to care for themselves. JJ is genuinely a person who takes care of people who have no one else to take care of them. That's a lot like his work at the Camp Gaea community, where he takes care of us patrons, brings the party to us, and keeps a watchful eye on everyone to ensure their safety!

Because of these burn injuries and his future long-term hospitalization and recovery, it is time for our community, and for JJ’s friends and loved ones, to step up and support him the way he has supported and cared for us, and the way he cares for his clients every day and night when he is working at long term care facilities.

JJ is facing a long term recovery and will be without a working income for an extensive period of time. Bills, rent, and healthcare expenses don't stop when people are injured and can't work while recovering. If you are able to donate $10, $15, $20, $50, $100, or more, every bit is going to help JJ and his immediate family weather this time in which he is unable to work and will allow him to focus not on finances, bills, or debts, but his recovery.
