Tratamiento de JJ. JJ's Cancer Treatment

Hola, me llamo Andreina, y estoy organizando esta recaudación de fondos en nombre de mi tío Juan José, también llamado cariñosamente Tío Jajan y JJ, que vive en Venezuela y le acaban de diagnosticar cáncer. Teniendo en cuenta las necesidades médicas, mi objetivo es recaudar al menos 19.000 dólares para cubrir el tratamiento inicial.

Tras meses de exámenes médicos, intervenciones y muchas molestias, finalmente recibió el diagnóstico de cáncer rectal avanzado con metástasis en el hígado y lesiones en el sacro. Su oncólogo le ordenó una primera ronda de radioterapia y quimioterapia con la esperanza de que el cáncer respondiera y pudiera continuar con el tratamiento.

La crisis económica y humanitaria venezolana ha afectado a muchos. Sin la posibilidad de pagar un seguro, teniendo uno de los salarios mínimos más bajos del mundo, y la peor hiperinflación de la historia a nivel mundial, pagar los fondos para el tratamiento inicial se siente como una tarea imposible. A pesar de tener una vida dedicada al servicio público y social Juan Jóse hoy día no cuenta con seguro, ni con una remuneración justa.

Por desgracia, nuestra familia se ha enfrentado a múltiples casos de cáncer y enfermedades graves. Hace apenas 3 años, la familia tuvo que recaudar fondos para mi tía, su esposa, a causa de su cáncer de mama. Afortunadamente, las donaciones permitieron completar su tratamiento y superar el cáncer. Previamente, Juan José tuvo que hacer frente muchos años a la enfermedad degenerativa de su hija, quien tristemente murió a sus 16 años.

No hace falta decir que no ha sido fácil, por lo que pedir fondos una y otra vez para luchar contra una enfermedad tan difícil ha sido agotador para él, su esposa y su hija. Me hago cargo de esto para ayudar con la carga y garantizar que el Tío Jajan, que es un tío, hermano, padre y abuelo excepcional, tenga la oportunidad de luchar.

Hi, my name is Andreina, and I am running this fundraiser on behalf of my uncle Juan José, also lovingly called Tio Jajan and JJ, who lives in Venezuela. He has just been diagnosed with Cancer. Based on the medical needs, I am aiming to raise at least $19,000 to cover initial treatment.

After months of medical exams, interventions and lots of discomfort he finally received the diagnosis of advanced rectal cancer, which has metastasized to his liver and sacrum bone. His oncologist ordered a first round of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in hopes that the cancer would respond to it and continue with treatment.

The Venezuelan economic and humanitarian crisis has affected many. Without the possibility of paying for insurance, having one of the lowest wages in the world, and the worst hyperinflation in the history of the world, paying funds for the initial treatment feels like an impossible task. Despite having a life dedicated to public and social service, Juan Jóse today has no insurance or fair remuneration.

Unfortunately, our family has faced multiple cases of cancer and severe diseases. It was just 3 years ago when the family had to fundraise for my aunt, his wife, and her breast cancer. Thankfully, donations were able to get through her treatment, and she is now in full remission. Previously, Juan José had to cope for many years with the degenerative disease of his daughter, who sadly died at the age of 16.

Needless to say it has not been easy, so asking for funds again and again to battle such a ruthless disease has been exhausting for him, his wife and his daughter. I am taking this on to help with the load and ensure that Tio Jajan, who is a exceptional uncle, brother, father, and grandfather has a chance to fight.
