Morocco Earthquake Relief Fund

Hi everyone.
I am Moroccan living in California, USA. I am fundraising for the victims of the powerful and destructive earthquake that stricken Morocco recently.

Many non-profit local organizations are trying their best with whatever they have to help the ones in urgent basics needs. But the lack of funds limits their abilities to reach more victims of this unfortunate catastrophically natural event. My goal is to help these local non-profit organization to help the earthquake victims as soon as possible.

100% of the donation you make will go to those non-profits. It will distributed among many non-profit organizations that do different type of work. Some of them, take care of women and children. Some works on getting the necessary school supplies, food and clothes for the kids. And some of them work on helping to find lodging while the government plan on reconstruction.
The donations will be transferred to my account and then I will send it to these organizations through bank transactions.
Among these organizations are “Association CHABAB Al Malaki”, “Ecole Al Ariam” located in Casablanca, and “Association Mekkil”.

Anything helps, and thank you for you support.

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck in Morocco’s High Atlas Mountain. The quake struck just after 23:00 local time on Friday, Sept. 8, at a relatively shallow depth of 71km (44 miles) south-west of Marrakesh, its impact was felt far and wide, reaching as far north as Casablanca. At least 2,862 people have been killed in the Moroccan earthquake and 2,562 have been injured. It is expected that these numbers will rise significantly in the next few weeks. Many of the deaths were said to be in hard-to-reach mountain areas. Many people are still on the streets, waiting to be sure their houses are safe before going back in. Thousands of homes have been destroyed, displacing families, and exposing them to the elements at a time of year when temperatures drop down during the nighttime. Schools, hospitals, and other medical and educational facilities have been damaged or destroyed by the quakes, further impacting children. Rescuers are still searching through rubble and trying to reach isolated communities after the devastating earthquake struck on Friday. The quake is the strongest to hit the nation’s center in more than a century, and its epicenter was not far from popular tourist and economic hub Marrakech. The worst impact was in the province of Al Haouz, where nearly 1,500 people have died. The region, like many other badly affected locations, lies south of Morocco at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, and includes remote villages and settlements that have been difficult for rescuers to reach. Eyewitnesses in the foothills of the mountains said some towns are completely destroyed, with almost all the homes in an area of the village of Asni damaged.

Thank you for your generosity and goodness
