Mom's battle with cancer.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nate and I'm trying to raise funds to help my parents financially through the toughest thing any of us have ever gone through. A little over a month ago my mom went to the doctors for a routine check up and had a colonoscopy. During the procedure they found cancer. Obviously anytime cancer is present it is very serious but after a bunch of other testing, (MRI, CT scan, pet scan) they found that the cancer had made its way to her liver, diagnosing her with stage 4 colon and liver cancer. Fortunately, she has already had surgery to remove the cancer in her colon. That alone was a very rough procedure and recovery but she made it through and is recovering. After meeting with her oncologist last week we have been cleared to start the 3 months process of chemotherapy starting Wed. Aug 2nd. After that they plan to do an advanced treatment where they attack the mass in her liver directly which will hopefully reduce it up to 70%. If all goes well, and they can keep it localized to the 1 side of her liver then we will be able to do surgery and be cancer free. This is going to be a very long process and the financial burden has already began to take a toll. My mom is the most selfless, caring and strongest woman I have ever known. I'm really hoping that this will help her be able to focus on her health and recovery. My mom is the heartbeat to our family and we would all be lost without her. Thank you for hearing our story, and if you are able to help with a donation, we would be forever greatful.
