To the friends of Scott and Gina, Caelie, Jack, Christian and Joshua Flanagan:
Recently the Flanagan family has learned that Scott is dealing with an aggressive, diffuse large cell B Non-Hodgkins stage 4 Lymphoma (involving bone, lymph nodes and viscera). He has begun treatment to treat and potentially cure this form of cancer.
Prior to this unexpected diagnosis Scott had been suffering from and was being treated for "back pain". He had been unable to work and had used all of his sick/vacation time. Although Scott is now on family leave from his job as a physical therapist currently he has not been receiving compensation. As you might imagine, this has put this family of six in a very difficult financial situation.
Although Scott and his family are taking this one day at a time, having faith and believing for the best, the road looks lengthy. Scott has begun treatment and has tolerated his first cycle of chemotherapy well. Many more are expected to follow. Scott and Gina are beyond grateful for the multitude of prayers. They ask for continued prayers for Scott's tolerance and positive response to treatment as well as grace and endurance for all. During this time any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated by Scott and his family.
Other acts of kindness can be sent to Scott and Gina Flanagan at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Road, PO Box 626, Suffield, CT 06078.
Finally, please pray for Scott’s healing and for the family members to experience strength and hope in supporting Scott. If you have any questions, please contact anyone of us.
Thank you very much.
