Help Nathan's family with medical expenses
Donation protected
Nathan is a Senior at Coronado High School. On August 23rd he collapsed during non-contact walk-through practice. He was given CPR on the field by the coach meanwhile another coach called 911. Fire Dept. arrived within minutes and continued CPR & his heart was shocked twice. When he arrived at hospital it was questionable whether his femoral pulse was palpable & CPR was started again. After Nathan was stabilized, he was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Nathan spent 9 days in PICU & CVICU. We found out he had Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW), he had never showed any symptoms. It was a total shock to the family. It was extremely difficult days in the hospital.
Dr's tried to wake up Nathan the day after incident but he wasn't responding to commands. Drs decided it was best to put him in a paralytic sedation for neuro protection. He was woken up 48hrs later for the 2nd time. He followed responds & showed no signs of brain damage.
5 days later he got a successful ablation that cured WPW. Dr's have said he had a remarkable recovery.
We are forever thankful to the coaches who acted so fast on helping him. He wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. Everyone involved the fire dept. that showed up within minutes and all the medical staff from 2 hospitals we are so thankful.
We are currently on the road to recovery, dealing with some blood clots but grateful he is alive. Nathan is strong, he will come back better than ever.
Nathan had never had any prior health issues. He was always healthy and has been going to gym with mom since he was 12yrs old.
We are asking for help with medical bills that are starting to come through. Thank you !
