JJ's dad, Kim Yong Hae (Richard Kim) tragically passed away last week of complications from a stroke suffered in July.

Anyone who's been around JJ knows him for his general volume, supernatural ability in teaching kids, and abundant love for life. These are all things that come from his parents.



For friends of JJ and Jungah, we know how close-knit their family was. They had the ability to work all day to come home and watch Korean variety shows and laugh into the night together. It's a family that took in a knucklehead like me for months on end with no intention of ever collecting a debt or being given anything in return. For the hundreds of others who have interacted with their family, I know there are stories just like mine.

The family was uninsured for JJ's father's first three weeks at the hospital, which included brain surgery and an extended stay in the ER.
This fund would pay for incurred medical expenses – covering JJ, Jungah, and JJ's mom as they look to rebuild a life without its centerpiece.
