UPDATE 9/2: I reached my goal in ONE DAY!?! I can’t express enough gratitude! But I promise to do all that I can to prepare for this tournament! I raised enough to also do IBJJF in Waco, TX come December! I will keep this open in case anyone wants to support future tournaments and I’ll make regular updates on here and my IG @balancelila. Follow along there for more. Every cent will be tracked and shared with the public so you know exactly where the money is going.
$267 to register for gi and no gi
$140 for a gi that meets IBJJF standards
$? I will register for the Absolute division as well, don’t know how much that is yet.
Receipts will be on IG.
Thank you again to my sponsors! I can’t do this without you.
Original Post:
Let me take an opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Brittany Reyes. I am a competitive submission grappler, based out of San Antonio, Texas. I train full time at Texas Made Jiu-Jitsu and compete every month in super fights with organizations like Elevate Submission Series, Fight 2 Win, Combat Sports Coverage, Apex, Submission Pro Quest, and Submission Hunter Pro to name a few. These events are streamed on big platforms such as FloGrappling and Pluto TV. In 2023-2024, I was ranked #1 in my division at ADCC and #15 overall. This is quite a feat as a 37 year old blue belt, out of hundreds of women from all ages, weight classes, and ranks.
My goal is to be an inspiration to women of all ages, showing them that it’s not too late to start something new. I’m a single mother and began training when I was 30. That meant bringing my 17-month-old to class at 6 AM and training for multiple hours a day. My coach would hold my son just so I could train in peace. Now he’s 7 and helps corner me! It’s been a community effort to get where I am now. And I’m calling on my community again for this next chapter.
IBJJF is one of the most prestigious organizations in the world and they’re coming to San Antonio on September 28 for the first time in many years. I’m ready to step on the most competitive stage with the most elite grapplers but I need your help!
Registration and uniform costs are $420 total. There are opportunities to advertise your company on the rash guard and shorts worn during the tournament. The deadline to submit your logo is September 14, and price varies depending on the size:
$120 for one small logo
$220 for one medium logo
$420 for a large logo on the chest and back (2 logos)
I will continue to wear this kit at all tournaments and super fights through 2025!
Your company will also be recognized on social media leading up to an event and tagged in every related post. For business’ who purchase a large logo, I will additionally advertise your company online twice a week for the rest of the year.
My goal is to become a black belt and coach the future generations. But for now, I’m working on my dream to become a World Champion in 2026. Maybe I got a late start but I’m here now to prove it’s never too late to be the best version of yourself.
