It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we share the sudden and devastating passing of our dear friend, Jithela Yohannan, who left us far too soon on June 25, 2026, at just 39 years of age.
Jithela and her husband, Bobby Cherian, are originally from Kottayam, Kerala, and had been building their life together in North York, Ontario, Canada, where they rented a home and were raising their three young children: a 6-year-old daughter, a 4-year-old daughter, and a 3-year-old son; creating a home filled with love, warmth, and care. Jithela was a loving wife, devoted mother, and kind-hearted person. She was healthy, with no known medical conditions, and her passing was completely sudden and unexpected.
On June 25th, while working from home, she suddenly became short of breath. Her mother, who lives with the family, noticed something was wrong and immediately called Bobby, who was away from home at the time. Bobby quickly called 911. Paramedics arrived promptly and did everything they could, but tragically, Jithela could not be saved. The family is now in the earliest and most painful days of shock and grief.
Bobby has lost the love of his life, and their three young children have lost their mother. Jithela’s mother has lost her beloved daughter, the heart of the family. Jithela was truly the backbone of their home, the one who managed daily life with patience, strength, and grace, while also caring deeply for her elderly mother, who is now facing both grief and fragile health. The weight on this family is immeasurable.
Bobby, who works part-time with Canada Post, is now facing the unimaginable responsibility of raising three young children while grieving an irreplaceable loss. As he takes time away from work to care for his children, arrange the funeral, and begin rebuilding their lives, he is also faced with ongoing rent and daily living expenses.
We are reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone who is able to help. Every contribution will go directly toward immediate needs, including funeral expenses, rent, daily living costs, and supporting Bobby as he cares for his children and Jithela’s elderly mother during this incredibly difficult time.
No amount is too small, and every act of kindness truly makes a difference for Bobby, for the children who miss their mother every day, and for a grandmother navigating profound loss while still needing care and support.
If you are unable to donate, please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers, and consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and wider community. Every share matters.
Thank you sincerely for your kindness, compassion, and support during this heartbreaking time.
