Not long ago, Autumn noticed some changes in the shape of her sweet baby boy’s head. She took him to the doctor who sent him directly to Riley Hospital for Children. A CT scan showed a tumor, so baby Jiraiya was admitted and had a tube placed to drain fluid from around his brain. On February 8, Jiraiya had a 17 hour surgery to resect the tumor. Autumn and her husband, Alex, got the awful news yesterday that the tumor is, in fact, cancer. The fluid is still too high and they need to meet with genetics before they will know exactly what his treatment will be.
Alex drives a truck and Autumn is a stay at home mommy to William, age 8, Trinity, age 1 1/2, and 5 month old Jiraiya.
They have no idea how long Jiraiya will need to be in the hospital or what treatment will look like. His MRI this morning showed more fluid accumulation, so everything is dependent on getting fluid off.
When I contacted Autumn about getting donations to help them, she told me they don’t really like to ask for help, but I know that Autumn would be the first to jump and help any of us.
I am trying to raise funds to help them with costs not covered by insurance, help with meals, accommodations, and any bills to allow Alex and Autumn to be able to focus on their family and not worry as much about finances.
