This May, our extraordinary friend, Jinath is embarking on the next chapter of her journey as she becomes a National Urban Fellow and achieves a degree from the prestigious Georgetown University. In this fellowship, she will be given the tools to grow even more into a “leader and change agent in the public and non profit sectors, with a strong commitment to social justice and equity”. (Wow!)

Of course, we - her community of friends and family - are all so proud of her, as she jumps bravely into the next phase of life and as she has been selected to a competitive and exciting program! However, this means she will be leaving Minnesota very shortly here as she fully relocates to DC and other cities to come in the latter part of her program!

In her fellowship, she’ll be given a considerably small stipend for the realities of today's high financial expenses. With the incredibly high cost of living in a city like DC, this modest stipend may not go very far! In order to make sure Jinath can be fully supported and comfortable as she completes this busy fellowship over the next year and unknown journeys to come, let’s raise some funds in the name of community uplifting!

Every bit of money raised will directly support Jinath’s livelihood for the next year and will ensure she doesn’t need to worry as much about covering the most basic necessities like housing, food, and healthcare. She will be moving two times in this program potentially and, of course, there will be many ups and downs and unexpected costs along the way! If we raise enough, Jinath will be able to truly participate in this rigorous program without the burden of also figuring out how to continously support herself.
