My Father, Jim (James) Hildesheim, was hit by a car going 60 mph on Wednesday March 29th on his walk home near his home in Ottsville, PA. I received a call from local police that my father was being transported in a helicopter to St Lukes where he would most likely pass away early Thursday morning. By the grace of God, Jim woke up from his coma and lived through 9 excruciating surgeries while he spent a week in the intensive care unit. He experienced two compound fractures in both legs, a compound fracture and severed nerves in his right arm, a shattered left forearm, full body brush wounds from the pavement, internal organ damage, as well as brain hemorrhaging. He is as strong as a rock, as he was moved into a regular hospital room after multiple doctors determined he would live. Jim now enters his next journey in a rehab facility where he will have to relearn how to walk and use his arms again.
Due to the overwhelming costs associated with this horrible accident, I am asking anyone to make a donation to help ease the burden of his financial responsibilities. Sadly, we do not know how long his rehabilitation will take, however at minimum he will be out of work for at least 6 months. Every cent counts! I want my Dad to focus on his healing rather than focusing on how he will pay his bills each month.
Jim, Julia my little sister, and I all thank you for your overwhelming generosity.
