Help Support Jim’s Recovery from Guillain-Barré Syndrome (Again)

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your help as our beloved Jim faces a rare and challenging medical journey—his second battle with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS).

As many of you know, Jim was first diagnosed with GBS in December of 2022, a condition that left him temporarily paralyzed and fighting to regain basic functions. After months of intensive rehabilitation, he miraculously recovered and was finally able to return to work last August. They were just beginning to feel like they had turned a corner.

But now, in an incredibly rare and unexpected turn, Jim has been diagnosed again with Guillain-Barré. Facing this illness once is terrifying. Facing it twice feels unimaginable.

We are so grateful Amy and Jim have excellent health insurance, but their financial reserves were deeply depleted by his first recovery. Between time off work, out-of-pocket medical expenses, travel for treatments, and day-to-day living costs, The Herrings are struggling to stay afloat.

Jim is currently undergoing treatment and will likely face another long road of therapy, recovery, and time away from work. Amy is doing everything she can to support him, but the weight of financial uncertainty is becoming overwhelming.

We’re humbly asking for your help to cover essential living expenses during this difficult time—housing, groceries, transportation to medical appointments, and anything else that can keep the family stable while Jim focuses on healing.
