Jim's (Jimbo's)Cancer Journey

Hi, my name is Dottie Harris. Jim (Jimbo class of '77 Kearny Komets) is my baby brother. We found out a couple of weeks ago that he has "colorectal cancer." The intensity of his treatment results in him not working for at least a year. Here is how his journey began. Jim knew something was wrong about six months ago. He went to the doctor, and the doctor said he was constipated. The doctor told Jim to take Metamucil for a month and then return. Jim went back to the doctor sharing the Metamucil was not working; the doctor told Jim to double up on the Metamucil. Again, Jim returned and told him something was wrong. After three months, the doctor ordered him a colonoscopy. The results of the procedure showed a two-inch tumor. A biopsy was performed, the result was aggressive cancer. His treatment is six months of chemo, then chemo/radiation, and then surgery. His first treatment with chemo was on January 18, 2022.

My brother is the kindest, most loving and generous person I know. He is the sole breadwinner of his family. His wife is disabled and cannot work, and he has a grandson living with him he is responsible for. This fundraiser is to help pay for his house (so as not to lose it), pay his bills, and buy food.

Jim has been working for Boeing for the past ten years. Disability will be covering this while Jim is out of work; it does not cover his house payment. Jim and I both live up in Washington. He has taken care of me for a long time. Starting a "Go Fund Me" campaign for him is how I can take care of him. I understand times are rough for all of us. Donate if you are able.
