My name is Kathy Sharp, and I am reaching out during the most unimaginable time of our lives. My husband, Jim, is the kindest, most loving man I know—a devoted husband, father, and friend who has always been there for others. Now, he needs your help.

Our Unexpected Tragedy

Just days ago, Jim walked into the hospital on his own two feet for what we believed would be a routine heart bypass surgery. We were filled with hope for a healthier future together. However, our world was shattered when a catastrophic complication occurred during the procedure. A ruptured disc impacted his spine, leaving him paralyzed from his upper chest down to his legs.

The vibrant man who once filled our lives with joy and laughter now faces the heartbreaking reality that he may never walk again. Our hearts are broken, and our future feels uncertain.

The Urgent Need for Specialized Care

Jim is not receiving the critical care he desperately needs at his current hospital. Time is of the essence, and we are arranging for him to be transferred by ambulance to a larger medical center equipped with the specialists and facilities necessary for his complex condition. This Thursday, he is scheduled to undergo procedures to insert a feeding tube and a tracheostomy, highlighting the severity of his situation.

To add to our overwhelming stress, I received the devastating news that I have lost my job. The mounting medical bills, the cost of the ambulance transfer, and the expenses associated with long-term rehabilitation are more than we can bear alone.
