My father Jim Ewing was diagnosed with cancer 4 months ago and is currently undergoing chemo therapy. At the end of chemo Jim will require major surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
He will need to be there for approximately 6 weeks following surgery. Surgery will hopefully be covered by insurance, however they will still need meals and temporary housing, flights back and forth from Florida to Minnesota and transportation to and from the hospitals and doctors offices. My mom, Deenie Ewing, will also be with him for this long road ahead.
These additional expenses are not covered by the health insurance and is where you, our friends and family come into play.
