DMV Based Force Free Pet Care - Jimmy's Park
Donation protected
Jimmy's Park is a team of committed individuals with a passion for pets and their families, specifically the dogs with special behavioral needs, bite histories and misunderstood behaviors.

Before Jimmy's Park, the majority of the team worked at a not-so-great business in which animals weren't given proper care due to profit seeking business owners who come from money. After catastrophic events, we built Jimmy's Park in April of 2024 and have had some impressive growth as a company in a short time, but now we are reaching out to the community to follow through with a few things that will shape and change the pet care industry.
Jimmy's Park focuses on 3 main things: Community, Transparency, and Opportunity. Below, we will list our goals and what each of these pillars mean to us.

Opportunity - Jimmy's Park employs many LGBTQ, Disabled, and/or BIPOC folks and is a woman, LGBTQ, Disabled and Black owned business. Jimmy's Park's goal is to offer livable wages for our employees, as well as offer benefits that can fit their needs. On top of that, we offer weekly Training Talks with our certified trainer to provide free information and skills to our staff to set them up for success. Another benefit we wish to offer is company paid certification for every employee, which can further bridge the gap we see in the pet care industry where anyone can claim to be trainer without a certificate. To invest in our team is one of the sole reasons why we wanted to run this GoFundMe. The more cared for our team is, the better care the animals receive. 33% of the funds from this GoFundMe will go directly to staff development, certification, salaries, and benefits.

Community - Jimmy's Park focuses on our reactive dog friends and their families. It's a close knit community in the DMV. We work with many foster volunteers to train the dogs they're fostering for success at a major discount, provide resources to the community and actively become friends with the dogs with behavioral issues. One major thing Jimmy's Park hopes to accomplish in the coming years is a state of the art facility focused on small structured Play and Train groups, Fear-Free Dog Grooming with the ability to shut down and allow for Dog-Reactive Dogs to be groomed with minimal or 0 triggers, and large rooms for minimal overnight dogs. We also hope to implement a Community Room, where Group Training, Events (Ours and other members of the community can use) and general hang outs can happen where all people from different walks of life can come hang out with their dogs and participate in engaging and fun activities. A further stretch goal of ours is to implement a Foster-friendly environment where overfilled rescues can allow us to foster multiple pups at a time in our facility and work on enrichment, training and so forth all in a force free and fear free environment. 33% of the funds will be allocated to our Business Savings and will be used to create a layout, ensure its up to code by Fear Free Pets, hire an architect and realtor.
Transparency - Probably one of the most important things a pet caretaker can be is transparent. We thrive on transparency and understand the importance. While we have done some hard work on our website, none of us are experts at web design. In order to make things easier to use and be laid out to see, we are hoping to invest in a web designer to curate our website and branding to be more accessible, readable, and easy to understand without feeling like something is missing or hiding. 33% of the funding will go into our marketing and branding to help us stand out and push our mission as a company further, to better serve the animals and families in the DMV.
We hope you can share this with your friends and family so they can apart of a much needed change in the pet care industry in the DMV. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
