Jimmy's Medical Cost Fund
Local small business owner and longtime High Country resident Jimmy Kerr needs your help.
On saturday August 14th Jimmy suffered a serious accident at this Boone, NC woodshop. Jimmy's accident led to two fingers being cut from his left hand. Thankfully his wife , Maggie Carey was at the shop, and able to take him to the ER.
Once evaluated, it was decided surgery would be needed at another facility. Due to the current Covid 19 situation, finding a hospital to do the surgery took several hours. Finaly, a surgeon and admitting capability were found at Mission Hospital in Asheville,nc. Jimmy was driven to Asheville and immediatly taken to surgery. After an 8 hour surgery one finger was able to be reattached but one was lost due to damage.
Now the journey to a new chapter begins. There are weeks, if not months of recovery ahead. Physical therapy will be needed to recover any range of motion.
Jimmy has been a full time woodwork for six years, building over a thousand pieces of furniture for residential and commercial clients. The future of this business is up in the air for Jimmy due this injury.
The costs of the hospital services, pending physical therapy, and time off work will be very significant. Will you help Jimmy and Maggie tackle these costs?

Thank you to all who have given thus far. It has been a trying but grace filled three weeks. Jimmy's recovery will be a long one, with potential follow up surgery before therapy is started. With that knowledge an increase in goal amount might be increased in an effort to help alleviate these financial burdens.
