Jimmy everyday battle against Leukemia Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Jimmy Smith Jr. I am 20 years of age , dad of a 2yr old son and a HVAC technician. On October 17th, around 5pm, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic Leukemia Cancer. The reason for me going to the hospital to get checked up was to figure out why I had pain down my left side and was having trouble breathing. As we all know, COVID-19 is a big deal now , so at the time I also tested positive for virus. While the doctors began to run tests and do a thorough check up on me, they noticed a swollen lymph node on the left side of my neck which immediately left a red flag for me to stay overnight in the hospital. At this point the doctor requested I see the ear nose and throat doctor to dig deeper into the situation. While meeting with the doctor and getting X-rays, CT scans they noticed fluid around my heart and a mass on my heart (6cm5mm) that was causing shortness of breath. They also noticed an oversized spleen and liver (3xs bigger than normal) which caused the pain on my side down to groin area. After getting all test ran to figure out what more was to be done to assist the situation at hand, they noticed that my white blood cells were overriding my red blood cells so they immediately knew I had some sort of cancer , but not the exact type of cancer until further biopsies were done on my swollen lymph node. After meeting with the oncology doctors and running labs they finally figured out the type of cancer I had and went right into treatments ASAP. I’m now on a 28 Day Regiment that includes my chemotherapy as an inpatient, so if everything goes like the Doctors plans , I will then be discharged from the hospital and put on a month to month chemotherapy treatment plan. This is going to prevent me from living my normal everyday life until further notice from the doctors. As of now, they say it’s going to be a minimum of 6 months before I get back to working and my normal day to day life due to the fact my immune system and everything has changed. Any assistance will help a great bit to keep up with my bills, son and any hospital expenses that will need to be covered throughout this new journey.. Thank you and God Bless!!
