If you have ever found yourself asking,
“Why do I have to go through this?
How much more can I take?
Will this ever end?”
You will understand the pain in this situation.
Tragedy is hard to understand and can wear down or build up our faith.
Surviving a brain stem stroke is remarkable on its own, but making a recovery and returning to work after only three months of rehabilitation is truly miraculous.
But then to hit setbacks at every side.
You can’t get answers.
You feel like your prayers are going no further than the room you’re in.
If you have been there and made it through, you can help.
Build up this faith.
Any amount makes a difference. If you have nothing to give, please share this as many times as the amount you wish you could give.
Thank you for your Generous Souls! ❤️❤️
Jimmy’s stroke was 5/11/2023 there were no warning signs. His vision was the first sign that something was wrong.
In June, he went to rehab for three months and was able to return to work in August 2023.
Unfortunately, setbacks occurred shortly after his return to work. He had already been experiencing stroke fatigue, but was able to make it through half days at work and take meetings at home.
In October 2023, started having blackout episodes that were thought to be seizures at first. He was taken to the local hospital ER about three times and the last time in December is when he was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann. They ran test on him but none of them showed anything. The neurology team at Memorial Hermann was in the room, discussing the fact that they could not figure out what was wrong with him. They basically released him saying they didn’t know what to do. He continued having the episodes that caused him to lose motor skills like he was very intoxicated with no memory of the entire episode. In March 2024 he had an episode that lasted six days. He was trying to work between episodes. But it took a while to get the short term disability approved again after the stroke, and it was only a portion of his income. After that, he was not released to work by his PCP so long-term disability was filed, which will be only 60% of his income, but it is still not approved because his neurologist still has not diagnosed him.
So he has no income and the long-term disability company is saying he may never be approved without a diagnosis from a neurologist.
It has become a waiting game, requiring more money, more tests, and not being released to work, all while the bills continue to accumulate.
Even preparing for the future has not helped because it fell short when tragedy struck.
With overwhelming medical, loss of income for months, inability to work, struggle to pay bills, and not qualifying for financial assistance because the cause of your inability to work is undetermined by the neurologist due to the uncertainty of the connection to your stroke. That is what happened to Jimmy.
Now the process starts over finding a new team of doctors who can help him with a diagnosis again.
Please help him on this journey.
