James B. Jones III aka Jimmy

King James Bartholomew Jones III AKA “Jimmy” caught his flight and crossed life’s final river on December 31, 2022 at 3:36pm after prayer and singing with his family after his hard fought battle with cancer. He leaves behind a host of friends and family that loved and admired him. He touched the lives of many young and old and could light up a room with his smile.

Jimmy was born on March 30, 1950 in Hampton, VA and raised in Phoebus. He attended Pembroke High School, and graduated from Phoenix High School in 1969. Also attended Thomas Nelson Community College and Majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Data Processing. For many years Jimmy worked as a Brickmason and Landscaper. Jimmy was also a Deacon at Promised Land Ministries in Washington, DC.

In memory of King James Bartholomew Jones III AKA "Jimmy" to some, "Pop" to others, and "Popadop Jones" to many of his God Family, we submit this final urgent request for all the lives he poured into and impacted on his journey called life. His siblings and family have established this GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds needed for his final arrangements due to the absence of him having life insurance nor a burial plot; the link to the campaign is below. It is our hope that you will share this campaign to social platforms and to your individual networks as well, as we attempt to pay the cost of his final expenses by the 01/15/2023 deadline and Celebration Service on 01/16/2023.
