Jimmy Whittemore Medical Funds
Donation protected
My best friend, Jimmy Whittemore, was hit by a car. He was biking in lower Manhattan on Saturday afternoon when he was hit by a driver, smashing his face into the front hood of their car before they fled the scene. He suffered fractions in his jaw, lacerations on his face and required emergency surgery the following morning to re-structure his jaw. By then end of his surgery a metal plate and four screws were drilled into his jaw and it was wired shut, marking the beginning of a grueling few weeks of recovery.
If you know anything about Jimmy, you know that he's a larger-than-life person: charismatic, entertaining, funny, always ready to make a friend and always has a story to share. He's made my life all the more interesting just by being a part of it, and I know I'm not the only one who can say that. If you know anything about Jimmy, you may also know that he is uninsured.
Since the accident resulted in such a complex surgery, Jimmy is going to have a large bill that he needs help footing. He's a generous person who doesn't ask much of others but is always willing to give what he has to his friends. If you've ever been touched by his kindness, been fascinated by his stories or heard him sing a song better than the original artist at karaoke, please consider helping in his time of need by donating to this fund. All the money raised here will be used to help Jimmy cover his medical expenses and keep him on his feet. Once a final bill is received from the hospital, the donation goal will be adjusted to help cover as much of the total as possible, but it will be at least $10k.
Please help, I know he'd appreciate it from the bottom of his very large heart.
