Jimmy Pop Memorial Fund

Hello friends, fans and loved ones of our Jimmy,

My name is Jacquie, and I am Jimmy Pop's former mother-in-law and long-time friend.

Jimmy was a wonderful man whose talent and wit made everyone around him feel honored to know him. The last seven months that he battled that awful cancer were excruciatingly painful to watch, especially for those of us who were the closest to him. Nevertheless, he fought bravely, and some might say, even stubbornly, but in the end, he was not able to overcome this horrific disease. We lost our Jimmy on Friday, July 22nd, at 7:40 pm.

Being the only son living in the state, Jimmy and his father were roommates and close pals to the very end. Those closest to Jimmy knew that he lived and cared for his elderly father, who will be 92 at the end of August. In fact, Jimmy's best friend Dana and his elderly father, Jim, were his caretakers around the clock for the last month of his life, ensuring he was given the best physical and medical care, and the utmost love and support in the final days and hours of his life.

Both men were on a limited income, and because Jimmy could no longer work to supplement their daily lives, the medical, household bills and other related expenses that far exceeded the initial fundraiser quickly added up.

Because Jimmy was focused on beating this horrific cancer, attention was not given to what would happen to his father nor wrapping up their living situation, should he not make it through to the other side. While we admired his moxy and fight, we are now in the position of making sure that his father will be effortlessly situated and Jimmy's affairs wrapped up efficiently so he can grieve his firstborn son without outside conflict.

A donation in Jimmy's memory will go directly to ease the financial burden of final costs, medical bills and equipment, the transistionary living situation of his father and lost wages for his final care.

Thank you for your final support of our Jimmy. We will miss him deeply. Always. He sure was one of a kind.
