Hi, I'm Sherry and most of you know me and my German Shepherd Dog, Jimmy on Facebook.
Most of you know that he had a splenectomy and mass removed in April. Well before that
he had fallen off our bed onto the hard floor twice in March and I noticed that his one leg was
giving out. I was taking him in for his wellness check up and have his leg looked at when I was hit
by a car the day before the appointment. Y'all know about that ordeal. So I had to wait 2 weeks
and finally got him in. That's when his doctor found the mass. That had to be dealt with before
figuring out what was going on with the leg. At first his doctor thought it could be his hip
(he has hip dysplasia) and he could do a noninvasive surgery. But he didn't want to do it if it wasn't
going to help. So he referred me to a neurosurgeon and he said no it wasn't the hip but something
was going on with his spine. He'd have to do a MRI to see what and where. It turned out that he had a herniated disc at T13 and L1 that was pressing against the spine causing him to not use his back legs.
He gave me a 80% recovery rate and Jimmy would walk normal again. He did well though the surgery
but he was slow in recovering and getting his strength back. Instead of a week in the hospital he was
there for 3 weeks! It was very hard on him and me. As most of you know my dogs are my family, my life.
I've been so stressed out and overwhelmed financially (I wasn't prepared for the 2 extra weeks)
physically (coping with a dog who needs a lot of help as he heals) emotionally (I suffer from depression
and my dogs are the ones keeps me on this side of the depression) and spiritually holding on desperately
to faith that everything will work out okay.
I've never been one to ask for help but this is for my sweet boy. He needs water therapy to strengthen
his back legs and get them working again. He has such life in him that I can't give up on him. I have to give him a chance. So I'm asking for help for him. I can promise you that ALL the money will go to his therapy
and paying off the hospital bill.
I have always paid it forward and I hope to do so again one day. I humbly thank you from my heart to the ones who donate. And for the ones who can't at this time if you could please keep him in your prayers
and good thoughts it will be greatly appreciated.
