Jimmy LaRose Memorial Scholarship Fund

Thanks to a generous donor, TDU members are launching the James “Jimmy” LaRose Memorial Scholarship Fund in Jim’s honor to help low-income Teamsters attend the TDU Convention.

Jim was a Shop Steward at UPS Local 294, and a long-time Teamster reformer. He passed away in January at the age of 52 after a lifetime devoted to fighting for a stronger union.

“Jim was my best friend. We shared a commitment to the Teamsters, TDU, and to making our union stronger,” says Tom Schlutow, Local 294 Teamster. “I am proud to announce we are launching the James “Jimmy” LaRose Memorial Scholarship Fund in his memory, to help low-income Teamsters attend the TDU Convention and get the skills and knowledge to carry the torch for Jimmy.”
