Hi everyone,

I’m starting this fundraiser for two of the most important people in my life—my dad, Jimmy, and my step-mom, Kim—who are both currently fighting cancer and need our support.

Over the years, my dad has faced multiple health issues, most recently related to his heart. At a recent check-up, his bloodwork raised concerns, and after a biopsy, he was officially diagnosed with prostate cancer. He just started radiation treatments this week.

Despite living nine hours away from me for the past 25 years, my dad has always gone above and beyond for me. Now, I want to be there for him.

Kim, my step-mom, has also had her share of health challenges. About a year ago, she suffered a stroke that affected her peripheral vision, meaning she can no longer drive. At first, doctors believed blood clots were to blame, but later scans revealed cancer on the outside of her lungs, which was causing the clots. She has completed chemotherapy and is now undergoing immunotherapy.

One person battling cancer is hard enough. Two, at the same time, is overwhelming. They’re both retired, on a fixed income, and dealing with limited insurance coverage while juggling medical bills, travel to appointments, and everyday living expenses.

They don’t know I’ve created this fundraiser—I just want to do something to ease their burden and give back in any way I can.
