Jimmy Ham Needs Your Support for Healing

As some of you may already know, my husband Jimmy Ham has been in the hospital since last Tuesday (November 19th). After being in pain for almost 2 weeks, 2 doctor visits, and a visit to our local ER with serious back pain and being told over and over he had pulled a muscle in his back, he was given many medications that did nothing to ease the pain. Tuesday morning, he could not even move or stand up. After going to Watauga Medical Center ER, they transferred him to Wake Forest Baptist due to an infection in his blood that had gone to his spine.

Not being able to do an MRI, he has had many tests from blood work, x-rays, and CT scans. He has been diagnosed with Discitis. First, they have to get the infection in the blood gone before they can do the antibiotics for the spine. He must have 3 back-to-back negative blood cultures (1st being today) before they can do a PICC line for him to be able to come home on antibiotics through that line 3 times a day for 6-8 weeks.

I really hate asking for any kind of help, especially with the holidays approaching and everyone still recovering from Hurricane Helene. Jimmy has pretty much worked for himself the majority of his life and at the moment we don't even know an exact date of when he will be coming home or when he will be able to get his strength back to be able to get back to work. I work at the school and only get paid once a month and I can barely cover the bills myself. With me using my sick time and all the expenses traveling back and forth to be with our children, co-pays, we would be very appreciative of any help with all of the expenses.
