Shortly after Christmas, my best friend James Glover was working a 24 hour shift as a medic for the Golder Ranch Fire Department when the ambulance he was riding in became involved in a severe accident with an RV. James suffered a concussion but true to his character, James's first priority was to break open the ambulance's bay doors to assist others involved in the accident, including his partner, who had to be airlifted out, despite his own injuries.
James could not remain in the hospital due to lack of space because of COVID, so he is currently recovering at home. While he is strong and we know that his physical injures will heal, he also suffered neurological injuries as a result of this. We want to make sure that he gets the best possible care available even if it is out of his network, which means that this could deplete his savings.
We are not sure how much his care will eventually cost but we feel this estimate will help cover his initial visits, the resulting follow-ups and anything that workers comp doesn’t cover. While he is surrounded by family and his fire department, we all know these are trying times. As a first responder and US Marine, James has been on the front lines for most of his life, so any support and kindness that you could extend would be very much appreciated--not just for those of us that love him but also those he has been able to help.
