Jimmy Chupp Family Fund

Last Friday as the outer bands of Irma descended upon Florida, another storm arrived on our family with the death of my friend and brother- in-law Jimmy Chupp.
Jimmy was one of a kind. He adored his family, his friends, his high school, FSU and Jacksonville in no particular order. He was fiercely protective and loyal to those he loved and made every effort to help others.
Jimmy was a great athlete. For anyone who played with him or against him in football, baseball, basketball, he was confounding. I never saw anyone like him. Built more like John Belushi than John Riggins, he left teammates and opponents shaking their heads in disbelief. Jimmy was fast. When he couldn't run away from you he would run over you. He was never more proud than playing fullback for Bolles first state football championship.
As good an athlete as he was, he was a better person. Jimmy was real. He was never fake. He never tried to sell you something he didn't believe. He never took advantage. He was kind and he was honest.
He also had the greatest laugh. His passing leaves a hole for his family and all who knew him that can never be filled.
In December, Jimmy lost his job. He worked for HSBC Mortgage Services in Brandon, Fl for 17 years. As tough as this was on his families finances, he also lost his life insurance and health benefits. As many understand this has created enormous financial burdens on his wife,
Shauntell and the entire family. Because so many have asked what they can do to help, myself and Ashley Frazer Sperling have started a GO FUND ME acct. to help with the financial hardships. All funds will be used to help pay for hospital bills, funeral expenses and unforeseen expenses his sudden demise has created. We know the recent storms have created hardships for all so all donations are appreciated and no amount is too small.  The family would like to thank everyone that has reached out in the previous days for their kind words and prayers. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or Ashley. We are in the process of setting up a memorial ceremony in Jacksonville hopefully coordinating with the 30th anniversary of Bolles First State Football Championship. Because even though Jimmy lived in Tampa for 25 years, Jacksonville was always his home.

                                                                          Thanks and God bless,

                                                                                                   Pat Moyer
