Jimee Armstrong’s Medical Fund

Hello Friends and Family,

I am starting this fundraiser for
Jimee Armstrong, a Chesterton, Indiana native and Combat Marine veteran. He is one of the kindest, most caring, and thoughtful people I know.

For those of you that don’t know, Jimee Armstrong has been diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable brain cancer, a Grade 3 Astrocytoma.

On December 21st Jimee collapsed and had a seizure at work. He was taken by ambulance to Northwest Hospital ER where he was referred to a local neurologist.

He waited 5 weeks to get into the doctor and finally received a CT that found a large mass in his left frontal lobe. An MRI followed days later confirming what was believed to be a large benign brain tumor.
Within a week of that Jimee was having major brain surgery at Rush University in Chicago to remove a 3 inch tumor.

It took a total of 4.5 weeks from his surgery date to receive a final pathology report. It’s been a long, painful journey to get here, but we finally received a diagnosis on March 28th.

Jimee’s diagnosis went from benign to a Grade 3 Astrocytoma which is aggressive and incurable. A Grade 3 Astrocytoma is a rare, fast growing, malignant, primary brain tumor that only spreads in the brain. It is treated through surgery, proton radiation and oral chemo and from there is monitored for regrowth. Jimee will be taken to Warrenville, IL 5 days a week for 6 weeks to receive proton radiation and will follow up with oral chemo at home for another 6-12 months.

For those of you that may not know Jimee; he is a 2007 CHS graduate, Chesterton Parks Department employee, son to Mark and Patty Armstrong, and both a loving husband, father, and brother. Together, Jimee and his wife Katelyn have a 2.5 year old son named Atticus and just welcomed a second son, Oliver in Sept of 2022. He is also a badass combat Marine veteran. Coming from his wife Katelyn; “Jimee has a heart of gold with a smile that could light up an entire room. He would take the shirt off of his back to help anyone in any way he could. He is loving, kind and incredibly funny. He is the center of our beautiful little family and the love of my life.”

We want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the prayers, well wishes, and positive vibes you have been sending for Jimee, and we ask that you please continue to do so!

So many of you have offered to donate or have asked how you can help this sweet family. We have created a Go Fund Me in hopes of lessening the financial burden as medical bills begin piling up so they can focus solely on fighting the big fight.

We know Jimee will be the exception and can beat this diagnosis! We plan to keep him around until he and Katelyn are old and gray, they’ve raised their boys and had the chance to chase their grandchildren around!
