When a dear friend of your family is diagnosed with the same wicked disease and who was someone that helped you through your own personal cancer journey, you wish to support them back in any way you can,

I have never been particularly into running but during my 5 year recovery I started to use the lonely treadmill in our garage! Apart from building some stamina and muscle strength, it undoubtedly helps me with my mental health too. If it wasn’t for that treadmill I may not have even contemplated an actual 5km run around Blenheim Palace during the Easter holiday. But that’s exactly what I am challenging myself with in order to raise funds for a special guy, who despite his condition, retains his warmth and humour - quite an inspirational soul!

Should I be successful, (fingers crossed!), the sponsored proceeds will be donated to him and his lovely partner so that they can book a break away which I know they will love to do and thoroughly deserve.
