Jim Wanish was always concerned about being a good dad. He often felt like he could have done more or been better. I always reassured him that he was perfect and how much the kids adored him.
He had a little car that was in pretty bad shape that he drove back and forth to work. He took Tee to work and Nyko anywhere they wanted. Brayden and Aree took more than one driving lesson in it. He even made it all the way down to Miami with one of his best friends, Mick, to watch a football game. I told Aree he could take the car home because his Jeep is not running very well either. The next day, he put four new tires on it and had the oil changed. He has driven it back and forth from my house to where he lives in St. Pete every day now.
Matter of fact, the day Jim passed away, Aree drove his car home and a tire blew on 275. Thank God Jim had a spare, and Aree and his buddy were able to change the tire and get home safe.
Nobody has to give anything, but if you were thinking of flowers, please instead, we would love to try to fix his car up so his kids can have it. I know how happy that would make Jim. He would have given the kids the world if he could. And leaving his car for them to share would really put a smile on his big smile already in heaven.
