Hi, my name is Cher and I'm Jim's nephew. I'm doing a fundraiser for my uncle "Jim Vue's" funeral cost. These funds would go towards any unexpected expenses that may fall upon immediate family members (my Aunts, my Uncles, my Grandma and my Dad). I hope that by doing this, with the help of you all, we may be able to help alleviate the pain and stress of my family and show them Love & Support in times of need and when the light is dim!

On December 5th, 2022, we received news that Jim was in the hospital. Doctors came back with bad news. Jim had a stroke and a vein burst inside the brain. Surgery could be done, but doctors say "he'll never be the same", even if they stopped the blood and drained it out, he won't show signs or have consciousness.
Within 2 days of being in the ICU and on life support, the decision was made to pull the plug. Unlike many times before, unfortunately, this time he won't be coming back home. This time, you can't just bring him food and visit him in the hospital until he gets better. "Nws yuas tsis rov qab los tsev lawm."

Those who know Jim, know that he is a kind-hearted man, and also a fighter! He's only 37 years old and he's still got plans. When doctors told him that his days are numbered, that never stopped him. He did what he could to prolong it. He exercised, he hiked to stay healthy, he got bikes for the kids and himself to ride, he cold turkey quit cigarettes, he dieted and ate only healthy foods. And for a while, he did it! When he went back for dialysis, they said that he was okay, and there were improvements. And for a little while, there was Hope! Unfortunately, Jim had kidney failure for a long time now, with both being less than 10% before they collapse. He's been on the list for roughly 2 years+ with no luck. We knew his time was short, but we never expected this soon...

My uncle Jim still got plans;
he messaged me the other day and was worried if we'll play secret Santa this year or not, and I responded "we'll see, I'll let you know when I found out". But if I knew sooner, I would say "Yes, we're gonna play! Make sure to come through, and bring your Family too! It'll be great to see you there Uncle! We Miss You! <3"
His birthday is December 23rd of this month, so he'll be turning 38 years old in just a few days away. He was going to celebrate that! Then he'll celebrate Christmas, then New Year, and then when Spring arrives, he'll be crossing off his bucket list, "learning how to ride a motorcycle with Yawm Yij Khwb".

My uncle Jim never had much, and neither does he ask for too much! Independent and self-driven, he never wants to be a burden to someone else. So whatever he got, was because he worked for it. Unfortunately, he never had kids of his own, but that never stopped him from loving. The way he loved his nieces and nephews, the way he loved us growing up, and the love he shared with his girlfriend's young 3yr old son and raising him up as his own. Thank you! I respect you for what you've done. It must be so hard to walk in your shoes. As one of the oldest children, you had no one to look up to. No role models, no one to watch your back, no one to pick you up from after school, no one to turn to when you make mistakes, everything was you learning on your own. And so as you grew, you depended on no one. But I know your struggles, I was young... but I was there; I've watched, and I've listened. You've always appeared tough and show no signs of weakness. But I guess you got to be tough when you're alone right? Well, I just want to let you know, that it's okay! Its okay to show emotions, and it's okay to be weak at times. You don't have to be tough, you're not alone anymore. Everyone's here for you, with Love and Support! Your girlfriend and her 3 yrs old son, your Mom, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, friends, relatives, even strangers you never even met.

Again, you never asked for much...All that we're aware of, is that you never had a suit, and so your Mom and sister Bao went and bought you one. You never had a new car/truck and so your little brother Chee Nue made you one! He made you a house too so you will have a place to call home. You don't have to worry about money, we've folded a lot of boat money for you. And relatives came in from out of town to help, and your old friends did too! My house was jam-packed with relatives and people with faces I don't even know. But at the end of the day, everything worked out! We know you wanted something small and discreet when you're gone, but hope this isn't too much!

So much more could be said but this wraps up the story of my uncle Jim! He's a good role model, uncle, brother, son and a Dad. And if you're able to help me support donations toward his funeral cost that'll be greatly appreciated! Anything big or small would help, even just a prayer for him would do. With Christmas around the corner, as you guys celebrate it with friends & family, please remember to take pictures and embrace the moments. Thank You All! Merry Christmas!
