JIM VANDERWOUD Obituary ❤️

Please show your support for Jim Vanderwoud and his family

We have all been caught off guard by Jim’s sudden diagnosis of serious and very rapid abdominal cancer. After a brutally short evaluation period, he entered hospice this weekend at home with his family. In classic “Sleepy Jim” fashion, he says, “I’m on the 18th hole, seeing UM pound Sparty, with my goal being to watch the same for that school down south”. Once a Wolverine, always a Wolverine, and he is one of the very best.

Obviously, his is not a situation anyone plans for, and Jim has asked us all to support Dina and Annika. Any contribution you may be able to make is welcome and very much appreciated. He has a terrific network of family, friends, and lifelong Evans Scholars (his college caddie scholarship comrades), all of whom are rallying to his side and supporting him in every way possible, and we ask with great respect for anything you can do. We also kindly suggest that you pass on this request to anyone we may not be reaching with his message.

With this post, Jim personally thanks you for your friendship, support, laughs, time, and love. He has always been a truly special person: witty, full of humor, humility, intellect, true love for his family and friends, and a sincere appreciation for the life that the game of golf and his beloved University of Michigan have afforded him.

Thank you for your consideration and support,

Team Vanderwoud
