Jim - Strong!

Donation protected
On Saturday, May 13, 2017, Jim, our son, brother, friend, colleague, mentor, and inspiration, collapsed at the gym. A friend was there, thank God, and called 911, his dad, Mike, and his sister, Missy. Since the medics were not sure what was happening, Jim was taken to AMC (a local hospital). Doctors discovered bleeding in his brain, and transferred him to the best neurological trauma site in the area, Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah, WI

The doctors were concerned of many possibilities, but ultimately concluded an aneurysm, and a day later he had surgery to stop the bleeding in his brain. The following 3 - 5 days were critical for Jim, and prayers were sent in by probably the hundreds! He will have a long road to recovery, and prayers continue to pour in.

Jim is an amazing man with an amazing heart, and a knack for creating relationships with all who are lucky enough to enter his world. He is a LIVESTRONG at the YMCA instructor, who helps cancer survivors and their caretakers get back to feeling strong again through fitness; exercising the body, mind and spirit. He gives back to his community with his job, but also makes it his own crusade to bring people together whether they've had cancer, or any other illness. On the day of his collapse, Jim wore a chicken costume to cheer on the runners and walkers who were participating in the Soleburner, a 5k that supports cancer research and treatments. Jim is a cancer survivor himself, and uses his engaging smile, unique humor, strong spirit, and eternal strength to support and encourage those around him.

Jim remains in the hospital, making strides seemingly each day, but we know his recovery will be long. He is young and full of life; we pray he will recover completely, and be able to get back on his feet with the help of God, moral support, and financial support. A Caring Bridge site is set up to follow his progress, and because his injuries are so intense, we hope to raise money to pay for the overwhelming bills that have already begun to come in. Thank you for considering helping this wonderfully vibrant, vivacious man get back on his feet. He will give back, it is his passion.
