Jim Stilts, who never met anyone who didn't end up calling him a friend, lost his life in a senseless tragedy. His daughters lost an amazing dad, as his wife Lisa said goodbye to a man she has loved since she was 16 years old. Jim choked on a piece of candy and never regained consciousness. In that instant, he left a wake of sadness and an equal outpouring of love and admiration. He's already missed beyond measure by all who knew him.

Jim lived a simple life. His strength was quiet. Devoted to Lisa and doting endlessly over his two daughters, Andi and Callie, Jim didn't need to say much more than, "Dude," a couple times before you couldn't help but love him, too.

He was a fixer. He could fix anything—using parts from here and there, he took something broken and made it whole much like how he left this life. Jim's liver, with prayers and tears, was successfully given to a 37-year-old mother of two daughters. His kidneys were a match to more than 30,000 people on the recipient list. Positive thoughts that they, too, allow someone else the gift of more time. Through his selflessness and his family's fortitude, Jim quietly and competently fixed the life of someone he will never meet, but who would surely have loved him as much as the rest of us do.

Since he's been the primary breadwinner for the entirety of their marriage, Jim's family needs help with the tremendous void he left behind.
